Two students, Archana Benny (pictured right) and Christina Evered (pictured left) from St David's Catholic Sixth Form College, Cardiff have achieved the best in their respective A-Level subjects undertaken with exam board WJEC.

Archana Benny's excellent results were in A-Level in Business Studies. Archana received 394 UMS marks of 400.

Philip Eedy, Programme Area Manager for Business said:

"This is an outstanding achievement and evidence of the hard work that Archana put into her studies. Throughout the two years she showed excellent commitment towards her studies and truly embraced the subject. Nikita Reece, Business Teacher who taught Archana stated that ‘Her result shows what can be done by a student that enjoys a subject and combines this with hard work'.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf the business studies team and St David's College to wish Archana well in your future endeavours and the best of luck in her chosen career."

Christina Evered's outstanding results were in A-Level Law, she received 396 UMS marks of 400.

Karen Phillips, Christina's law teacher for 2 years commented:

"The law department is thrilled with the news that Christina achieved the highest mark in the whole of the UK entries for A Level law with the WJEC exam board. Christina is an exceptionally bright student who has progressed to read law at Exeter University. Whilst at St David's, Christina demonstrated her talent for law by participating in debates on stimulating topics such as whether the UK should have a Bill of Rights and by thoughtfully considering the application of legal principles such as judicial precedent and statutory interpretation.

She worked incredibly hard to gain the result that she did but did so with a cheerful demeanour and a smile on her face. She is wished all the best for her future career as a legal professional and the law department is sure that they will, in time, see Christina representing clients in court."

Both students will be recognised for their achievements in a ceremony hosted by WJEC (the examining body for their examinations) on the 16 December.

These outstanding results show the dedication and amazing standards that can be achieved at St David's Catholic College. These students are a testament to their teachers and families. Well done, we wish you both all the best for the future.
